Main duties of the job The Healthcare Assistant role at Stanley House entails supporting residents with complex neurological conditions and behavioural challenges. You will assist with personal care, participate in ward rounds, maintain accurate clinical records, and provide palliative care. The position involves working 12-hour shifts, 3-4 days a week including days, nights, and alternate weekends, totaling 37.5 hours per week. What You Will Be Doing
As a Healthcare Assistant at Stanley House, you will:
Support residents with complex neurological conditions and behavioural challenges, adapting your approach to changing needs Assist with personal care, including washing, dressing, shaving, continence support and mealtime assistance Participate in ward rounds, observe behaviours and contribute to care planning Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate effectively with colleagues Provide compassionate palliative and endoflife care, ensuring dignity, comfort and family involvement Encourage engagement in therapeutic activities such as physiotherapy, art therapy and structured routines Help residents enjoy meaningful experiences — from community outings to onsite events and social activities Stanley House can be a demanding environment, and you’ll need confidence, emotional resilience and a calm, supportive approach. The shift pattern is 12 hours a day, 3-4 days a week including days, nights and alternate weekends. 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications Essential
Experience with neurological conditions, behaviours that challenge, or palliative care. NVQ Level 2 or 3, nursing studies, or a Health & Social Care qualification.
