Do you want to begin your rotation in a dynamic and innovative Community Stroke Team that is already working in line with Integrated Community Stroke Service Recommendations? And then rotate to a Multidisciplinary Team for people with Progressive Neurological conditions, and a Community Therapies team preventing hospital admission and providing support for people following discharge from hospital.....

We are looking for a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our Community Stroke Team in East Staffordshire to help us continue to change things for the better, working with patients following discharge from hospital with a new diagnosis of Stroke.

There will then be the opportunity to rotate through Community Rehab and the Adult Ability Team in future rotations.

Main duties of the job

Are you........

An Occupational Therapist with an interest in developing rehabilitation knowledge and skills

Experienced in working with Stroke and Neuro patients, particularly in the Community

Enthusiastic, with a creative approach to rehabilitation

Passionate about making a difference to people's lives

As one of our Occupational Therapists, you will join a friendly, highly skilled and motivated multi-disciplinary team, based in Burton on Trent.

Opportunity to develop skills in Stroke, Neuro and general rehabilitation

Training opportunities - in house and externally

Established and supportive supervision and appraisal structure

You will work alongside Physiotherapists, Specialist Nurses and support workers in these exciting teams to provide home based assessments and rehabilitation for patients in the community.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Degree in Occupational Therapy / Pending HCPC Registration / Pending Evidence of CPD learning development

Desirable

BAOT Registered

Experience Essential

Experience of formulating assessments, planning, co-ordinating and supporting adults experiencing physical health difficulties in the NHS Experience working in a range of clinical settings and making decisions autonomously

Desirable

Experience of negotiation and conflict management in clinical situations.

Skills Essential

Knowledge and experience of occupational therapy interventions, specialist assessments and outcome measures in the NHS
