Main duties of the job

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to join our well established team of Matrons within the Division of Surgery and Women's & Children's Services . You will support a speciality triumvirate in the delivery of excellent, compassionate care whilst maintaining high professional standards.
We are looking for leaders who are not only ambitious, creative and focused, but individuals with sound clinical expertise and a passion for providing outstanding care every time for our patients & outstanding support for our staff.
You will work in collaboration with the specialty triumvirate to provide assurance of quality and safety for our patients and lead the team to deliver improvements and innovations in practice.
Candidates must be a Registered Nurse and have experience in an acute hospital setting.

You will be a part of the Divisional leadership team, and work within a triumvirate of Operational Manager and Clinical Lead.

Person Specification
Education & Qualifications Essential
Degree or equivalent measurable level of experience within a governance setting Certificate in Management or equivalent ENB 998 or equivalent (clinical post only)
Desirable
Leadership course Masters or working towards Registered clinical professional
Knowledge & Experience Essential
Experience at Band 6 level or equivalent measurable relevant experience within a healthcare governance setting Working knowledge and experience of using MS Office packages - Word, Excel and PowerPoint including data collection and input
Desirable
Previous Band 7 experience Experience in change management projects Experience in managing and/or coordinating governance activities
Skills & Knowledge Essential
Knowledge of External Assurance Requirements e.g. CQC Fundamental Standards Excellent communication skills Awareness of the national drivers relating to clinical care and related governance Ability to negotiate and influence Ability to prepare and develop reports in a variety of presentations Knowledge of improvement methodologies Strong leadership ability Demonstrates analytical skills and analytical ability Flexible approach to working pattern Ability to work under pressure Ability to network, internally and externally
