Job Title: Clinical Research Nurse
Location: North East BIC - SGPA Head Office
Salary: £50,000 per annum (pro-rata for part-time)
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: 22.5 hrs per week (0.6 WTE Working days negotiable)
Main duties of the job
The Primary Care Research Nurse will lead and deliver highquality commercial and noncommercial clinical research within primary care settings across Sunderland GP Alliance. The post holder will be responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant delivery of industrysponsored and investigatorled studies, supporting national research priorities and increasing access to clinical research for the local population.
The role includes autonomous clinical practice, coordination of commercial research studies, liaison with sponsors and research networks, and working closely with GP practices to embed research into routine primary care delivery.

Delivering study interventions and researchrelated clinical procedures including venepuncture, ECGs, observations and sample handlingMaking professionally autonomous decisions within the scope of research protocols and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)Ensuring participant safety, dignity and wellbeing throughout research participationIntegrating research visits with routine clinical care wherever possibleCoordinating the setup and delivery of commercial research studies, including feasibility assessments, site initiation and sponsor engagementActing as the primary operational contact for commercial sponsors, Contract Research Organisations and the NIHR Research Delivery NetworkMaintaining accurate and contemporaneous research documentationEnsuring timely and accurate data capture and query resolution in line with commercial timelines and performance expectationsRecording research activity accurately within clinical systems and research databasesSupporting monitoring visits, audits and inspections by sponsors and regulatory bodiesTraining & DevelopmentMaintaining uptodate Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification and compliance with research governance requirementsSupporting the development of research capability within GP practices through informal training, guidance and mentorshipContributing to workforce development within the Sunderland GP Alliance research teamActively engaging in continuing professional development relevant to clinical research delivery

Ability to pass an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full, valid driving licence and use of own car, also demonstrable business insurance use valid policy.
Qualifications Essential
Registered Nurse (NMC Registered) Degree in Nursing or relevant subject Evidence of continued professional development Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification

Masters degree or working towards Non-medical prescribing qualification
Experience Essential
Experience in clinical research delivery Experience of managing or coordinating clinical studies
