Location: Care Fertility Nottingham, John Webster House, 6 Lawrence Drive, Nottingham Business Park, Nottingham, NG8 6PZHours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, between 9am 5pm (with some weekend and bank holiday work on a rota basis).Salary: £25,285 - £27,325 per annum FTE (Depending on experience)
Were delighted to share an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join us as a Laboratory Practitioner on a permanent basis within our Embryology team at Care Fertility Nottingham.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop a career within a clinical laboratory environment, gaining hands-on experience while supporting the delivery of exceptional patient care. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive team working at the heart of our laboratory services.
The role is full-time (37.5 hours per week) and includes participation in weekend and rota-based activities as required.
Main duties of the job
As a Laboratory Practitioner, you will support Clinical Scientists with a range of routine clinical and laboratory activities, including:
Performing diagnostic semen analysis in line with relevant standardsUndertaking sperm preparation, freezing and thawing proceduresSupporting oocyte collection and embryo transfer proceduresPreparing laboratory equipment, media, gradients and culture dishesMaintaining accurate treatment records and cryostorage dataAssisting with equipment monitoring, stock control and laboratory auditsSupporting compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standardsYou will also:
Work with clinical databases and digital systems to ensure accurate data entry and trackingCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams and other clinical unitsHelp maintain a safe, clean and compliant laboratory environment

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
GCSEs (or equivalent), including English and Maths
Experience Essential
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and database systems Experience in data entry or administrative roles Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Ability to work within strict procedures in a regulated environment Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
Desirable
Experience within a healthcare or laboratory setting Knowledge of patient records systems or quality/audit processes
