The Receptionist Care Home plays an important role in creating a welcoming, professional, and efficient front-of-house experience for residents, families, visitors, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
As a key first point of contact, the postholder will deliver excellent customer service while supporting the smooth day-to-day administration of the care home.
The role combines reception duties with a broad range of administrative and clerical responsibilities, helping to ensure accurate record keeping, effective communication, and efficient operational support.
This role is essential in maintaining a positive visitor experience and supporting the wider team to provide a safe, organised, and resident-focused environment.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking a professional and friendly Receptionist to provide front-of-house and administrative support within our care home.
You will greet visitors, answer enquiries, manage reception duties, and support the wider team with a variety of administrative tasks to help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the service.
The role includes maintaining records, supporting resident appointments and transport arrangements, assisting with office coordination, and ensuring confidentiality and high standards of customer service at all times.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, strong IT ability, and a proactive, customer-focused approach.

We are looking for a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to join our care home team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
As the first point of contact for residents, relatives, visitors, contractors, and colleagues, you will play a key role in creating a warm and welcoming environment while ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of reception and administrative functions within the home.
This is an onsite role, working 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 2:00pm to 8:00pm, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a busy, people-focused role and thrives in a professional front-of-house environment.
This post is fixed term for 12 months.
What Youll Be Doing
As Receptionist, you will:
Provide a professional and welcoming front-of-house service for all visitors, residents, families, colleagues, and contractors Answer telephone enquiries in a courteous, helpful, and timely manner Support the administration team with a range of clerical and office tasks Maintain accurate records, databases, spreadsheets, and filing systems Assist with scanning, photocopying, document management, notice boards, and general office administration Support practical arrangements for residents, including booking appointments, arranging transport, and coordinating taxis Liaise with external suppliers and service providers where required Help support office systems, stationery ordering, ID badges, maintenance logging, and meeting arrangements Maintain visitor records and support site security processes, including reception-based monitoring systems Ensure confidentiality and accurate handling of information in line with organisational procedures What Were Looking For Were looking for someone who is:

GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths Experience working in a busy and demanding environment Strong communication and customer service skills Good IT skills and administrative capability Ability to prioritise workload and manage competing tasks A commitment to delivering excellent customer service and supporting a resident-focused environment Desirable
