Job summary
We are seeking compassionate and flexible female Relief Care & Support Workers to join our Retirement Living Service on a bank basis, providing cover for absence and additional service needs.
Working across daytime shifts, the postholder will provide person-centred care and support to older tenants, helping them maintain independence, dignity, wellbeing, and connection to the community.
Duties may include personal care, administering medication, supporting daily living activities, responding to tenant wellbeing needs, and maintaining accurate records.
The role requires a caring and adaptable approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a supportive and community-focused environment.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for caring and reliable female Relief Care & Support Workers to provide flexible daytime cover within our Retirement Living Service.
This bank role will support service delivery on an as-and-when-required basis, covering shifts between 7am and 9pm, including some weekends.
Typical shifts are 7am3pm or 3pm9pm.
You will support tenants with personal care, medication administration, emotional wellbeing, daily living activities, and welfare checks while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
The successful candidate will have experience working within a care setting, strong interpersonal skills, and a compassionate and professional approach.
Due to the nature of personal care provided, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the postholder to be female in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1.

About the role This isnt a typical care role.
As a Relief Care & Support Worker, youll support tenants living in their own flatshelping them stay independent, connected, and in control of their lives. From practical support to companionship, youll build meaningful relationships and play a key role in creating a strong community.
This post is for bank staff to cover absence on a relief as and when required basis, working days between 7am and 9pm and will include some weekends.
Typical shifts would be 7am to 3pm or 3pm to 9pm.
