About this role

Job summary

The post holder will be responsible for triaging referrals into the Gynaecology service from primary care and other secondary caredepartments.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Main duties of the job

To use established pathways to assist with clinically safe triage of referrals.To manage / organise the healthcare needs of patients, accept, downgrade, update and reject referrals or refer to an appropriate service / practitioner as required.To provide clinical support as required/requested and provide operational management of the Nurse triage team.To promote evidence-based practice and act as an accountable role model.To lead the triage team acting on behalf of the Senior Nurse including ensuring training needs are met establishing.educational plan for nursing team and performance management and audit.To work with other members of the team together with a focus on patient safety and ensuring that all delegated activities.are in line with the NLIAH (2010) All Wales Guidelines for Delegation.Post holders will be required to be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Qualifications and Knowledge Essential

Level 1 Registered Nurse Current NMC Reg Masters level Degree or equivalent demonstrable knowledge and experience Up to date in relevant Mandatory Training Willingness to undertake TAS trainer role

Desirable

Teaching, Mentorship or Coaching qualification Leadership qualification TAS trainer

Experience Essential

Significant experience as a registered practitioner - Extensive experience in gynaecology Experience of triage of patients Evidence of on-going personal & professional development and able to encourage change management Risk assessment and DATIX training Experience of managing staff and patients

Desirable

Clinical Leadership HR training in "Core management skills". Experience of Clinical Audit

Excellent written and verbal communication skills IT skills including windows-based software Demonstrate good awareness of leadership skills and willingness to develop their professional role Ability to manage own workload effectively - can direct others Able to deal with aggressive patients/relatives/staff and possess skills to de-escalate a situation.
