Job summary
We are looking to appoint an experienced and highly motivated individual to lead on developing our stroke unit .If you are passionate, with managerial skills and keen to improve the safety and quality of care delivered to stroke patients and lead a team, you may be the person we are looking for.We are looking for a committed and confident individual with excellent communication skills, to provide leadership on all aspects of care delivery for our stroke patients and maintaining their safety .
The post holder will work with the multidisciplinary team to produce protocols, to support patients and identify the points where hospital admission is both appropriate and necessary.
Main duties of the job
Having continuing responsibility for the 24 hour management of the ward and delivery of patient care. To have responsibility for the line management of ward based nursing staff, Housekeeper, Ward Clerk. To promote continuous development in clinical practice and deliver of patient care, encouraging innovation, improvement and appropriate change in service delivery. To manage resources within agreed budget. To provide a suitable and stimulating learning environment for students and for the ongoing professional development of registered staff. To maintain communication networks at all appropriate clinical and managerial levels.

Person Specification
Qualifications/training and professional development Essential
Good general education Registered Nurse (Level 1) or a Professional registration within health care ENB 998 or equivalent Degree in Nursing Evidence of further continued professional development
Experience Essential
Experience as an Band 6 grade or higher Previous experience as shift/team leader Experience of teaching students, HCAs and qualified staff Experience of working within an acute, and or rehabilitation setting. Experience of working within a Stroke or Neurology

Experience of participating in budget management
