Job summary
The post is Gwent wide, and community based, you will be expected to cover caseloads during periods of sickness and annual leave. The post requires travel across Gwent, with the base in St Cadocs Hospital.
Gwent NGAGE is a fully integrated service with camhs drug and alcohol team providing the tier 3 response and there is an expectation to attend various premises across Gwent where required.
The service is externally funded and commissioned as agreed in tender process with recent 10 year contracts.
You will manage a case load of young people aged under 18 years living in Gwent with Complex drug and alcohol needs. There may be times where the young person could be placed outside of Gwent, availability to travel to such areas will be required. You will be expected to identify, assess, provide interventions, co-ordinate, and evaluate care, with a range of professionals across various agencies.
Main duties of the job
To participate and have an oversight of the assessment of new patients/clients, treatment planning
Completion of urine sampling and Breathalysers where required,
To carry out WARRN risk assessments
To ensure team leader is aware of any patient who would be considered a risk or are a potential risk to others, i.e., suicidal, sexual, safeguarding and physical abuse or violent patient.
To undertake mandatory corporate safeguarding supervision,
Participate as an active member of the team, attendance at weekly MDT and joint allocation meetings, CAMHS away days and represent the service in the absence of the team manager.
To ensure advice/consultation and interventions are based on evidence.
Accurate and timely documentation keeping and report writing, use of WCCIS, alongside excellent communication skills.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
