Job summary

Birmingham Women's and Children's (BWC) NHS Foundation Trust are looking for motivated individuals to join us as an Experienced Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW).

BWC is split across 3 sites in a thriving multicultural city. An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced HCSW's working in an acute health care setting, wanting to expand their health care career within a specialised trust delivering care to Women, children, and young people. Working in a clinical role; you will undertake a trust training program whilst working alongside a multidisciplinary team. HCSW's play a vital role in caring for patients; working under the direction of healthcare professionals they take care of the day-to-day needs of patients, providing help with personal care, meals, mobility, housekeeping duties and performing patient observations, to name a few.

Main duties of the job

This is very much a clinical role; you will undertake a trust training program whilst working alongside a multidisciplinary team. Qualifications Essential

Maths and English Language GCSE A-C/9-4 or level 2 functional skills/key skills in numeracy and literacy Vocational qualification at Level 3 in health-related subject Care certificate

KNOWLEDGE & NATURE OF EXPERIENCE Essential

6 Months minimum of UK acute care experience Understanding of the principles of safeguarding in relation to this role

ANALYTICAL AND JUDGEMENT SKILLS Essential

Be able to escalate problems when required and report back to supervising registered practitioner Able to recognise limitations
