Job summary
University Hospitals Birmingham seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Interventional Radiology Consultant with an academic and research interest to join our expanding Interventional Radiology team in a substantive post. This is an exciting opportunity to work within one of the largest and most advanced NHS Trusts in the UK, serving a diverse population and delivering complex tertiary care.
The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality IR services across UHB, supporting elective, emergency, and on call IR pathways. Then candidate will also be expected to have a secondary interest in abdominal cross-sectional imaging and participate in complex pancreatitis MDT.

Job description Job responsibilities
Key Responsibilities are to:
*Provide expert, consultant-level Interventional Radiology services across vascular and non-vascular specialties.
*Participate in the IR on call rota, contributing to 24/7 emergency IR provision.
*Deliver high-quality outpatient, inpatient, and day case interventional procedures.
*Work collaboratively with clinical colleagues including surgery, oncology, hepatobiliary, trauma, renal, and critical care teams.
*Contribute to service development, quality improvement and strategic planning within IR.
*Supervise and support registrars, fellows, and advanced practitioners.
*Participate in audit, governance and teaching as part of UHB 's commitment to excellence.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
*MBBS or equivalent medical qualification *FRCR or equivalent *Minimum of 5 years clinical experience. *Minimum of 3 years clinical experience within chosen sub-specialty area *Ability to verify complete details of employment history. *Available to start within 4 weeks of interview *CCT in Interventional Radiology. *Evidence of Continuing Professional Development including CME
