About this role

Job summary

You will lead a team of highly skilled theatre practitioners within the Orthopaedic scrub team. It is expected that the successful applicant will enforce the trusts values and behaviours and instil them into the scrub team. Highly skilled and adaptable, you will be supported to learn and develop your skills and teach others within the department.

The post holder has a key leadership and management role at the Senior level and will assist the team manager with the continuing responsibility for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation, and evaluation of care, and the setting of standards of care within theatres.

As an expert scrub practitioner in the perioperative setting, you will be responsible for providing high standards of care that comply with evidence-based practice. In line with trust values and expectations, you will also ensure an environment that is conducive to well-being and staff development.

Main duties of the job

Within their clinical setting, provide support to the team manager in delivering the current NHS Strategic Plan, the Trust's strategic goals, and the implementation of the Stockport Accreditation and Recognition Scheme, including effective leadership, setting, monitoring, and maintaining optimal care standard Be visible and accessible in the clinical area for patients, relatives, and staf Lead by example by adhering to and implementing all policies and standard operating procedures, acting as a role model, taking responsibility for own professional development, and supporting a named tea Provide leadership that promotes patient centred care Assist in maintaining an environment conducive to education, teaching, audit, and training, maintaining an ethos of evidenced based practic Provide clinical leadership and management of staff ensuring the delivery of the highest professional standards through staff development and individual performance appraisal/revie Uphold standards of care and expected behaviours in accordance with the Trusts Valu Assist the Senior Team in supporting and contributing to agreed developments within the Business Group Identify equipment priorities to support the care of patients and staff in their physical environment, undertaking risk assessments as required/directe Ensure the efficient use of resources, monitoring quality and expenditur

If successful this vacancy will require an enhanced DBS check at a cost of £54.90. This cost will be deducted from your first Trust salary

Qualifications Essential

NMC/HCPC pin Working towards a degree

Skills and Abilities Essential

Experience Essential

Extensive experience of working in Orthopaedic Scrub within Operating Theatres Evidence of departmental leadership and management experience within a perioperative environment

Knowledge Essential

Has relevant skills and knowledge specialities required to participate in provision of service over 24/7 period Evidence of leadership qualification
