We have an amazing opportunity available to join our well-established and forward-thinking organisation of NHS Blood and Transplant.
If you're experienced in facilities or maintenance management or working as an assistant facilities manager, you would experience valuable growth and support in working with our state-of-the-art systems in a well-structured and progressive organisation.
You will be supporting the Estates and Facilities Manager in managing the maintenance of our Oxford site and other sites in the surrounding area. You'll manage a small team of administrators and contractors to ensure a safe working environment for your colleagues, donors, and visitors. You'd be a core member of an organisation that's fundamental to the health and resilience of the nation.

Main duties of the job
In this role, you'll help the Estates & Facilities Manager in managing the effective and efficient delivery of local NHSBT site services.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support the delivery of high-quality estates and facilities services across multiple sites, helping ensure safe, compliant, and well-maintained environments.Act as a key point of contact for local stakeholders, building strong relationships and responding to service needs effectively.Lead and support teams, contractors, and service providers, creating a positive, collaborative environment focused on performance and continuous improvement.Contribute to planning and delivering facilities projects, ensuring work is completed on time, within budget, and to required standards.Promote a strong safety culture by supporting risk assessments, health and safety compliance, and emergency response arrangements.Help manage contracts, budgets, and resources, ensuring services are efficient and deliver value for money.Contribute to business continuity planning, responding effectively to incidents or unexpected events.Support the development and implementation of best practice, procedures, and quality systems.
You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours when required, with prior notice.

Person Specification
Qualifications Essential
Either a degree in Facilities Management, Building Services, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or equivalent demonstrable experience.
Experience Essential
Proven experience managing contractors and working within facilities or estates services. Experience of managing people and leading teams to deliver objectives. Experience of working collaboratively across functions and building relationships. Knowledge and application of Health and Safety regulations and statutory compliance. Experience managing facilities services and operations. Experience managing budgets within a service environment.
