About this role

Job summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced physiotherapist to assume the position of Clinical Lead in lower limb amputees at York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated individual to provide leadership and drive innovation across the Allied Health Professional Amputee team. The primary base for this role is York and you will be required to travel to Scarborough Hospital.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists, senior support workers and multi-professional colleagues throughout the Trust to ensure the highest standards of patient care. The post offers the chance to shape service delivery, work effectively within both local and regional teams, and lead improvements across the amputee pathway.

This role provides the opportunity to enhance clinical expertise in surgical services, while developing competencies across all Four Pillars of Practice. A significant focus is placed on leading clinical transformation initiatives and improvement projects within the service. Candidates will also have opportunities to engage in research, disseminate findings, and contribute to education within their areas of clinical expertise. Additionally, there is an expectation to support the learning and development of other Physiotherapists, Occupational therapists and multidisciplinary team members through training, supervision, and reflective practice.

Main duties of the job

To provide visible clinical leadership across clinical service, within surgical specialities, which includes autonomously managing a complex caseload, evaluation of quality and service performance and creating a culture of learning and development. To use evidenced based highly specialist skills to manage a complex caseload, which includes the specialities of lower limb amputees . Provide training/support to staff, patients and their carers.You need to be resilient and able to manage and prioritise your caseload whilst supporting the work and development of the team. The department is well established in facilitating the training of Therapy students and staff are involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programmes for other health care professionals across the Trust. You will be part of a supportive senior therapy leadership team, including other clinical leads across site, team manager, as well as senior operational manager and professional lead. Person Specification

Education, Qualifications and Training Essential

HCPC Registered Physiotherapist Evidence of relevant specialist CPD activities Evidence of significant post graduate training within amputees. Post graduate qualification relevant to role and clinical specialty

Desirable

Masters level study within relevant area of practice or research and evidence-based practice.

Experience & Knowledge Required Essential

Experience in specialist role, including the management of a range of specialist conditions, with substantial evidence of additional knowledge acquired through formal and informal clinical supervision Evidence of ability to lead and act as an authority on the management of complex clinical presentations in specialist area Significant experience of delivering clinical treatment within specialist area

Desirable

Experienced in the identification and use of outcome measures to evaluate clinical treatment Significant experience of training/supporting others (including students) within specialist clinical area

Skills and Abilities Essential

Able to ommunicate complex information effectively, clearly, and accurately in plain simple language, both verbally and in writing. Committed to development and improvement of myself and the wider team. Use own initiative, exercise judgement, resolve problems and stay calm under pressure.
