Job summary
HMP Berwyn is a category C local training prison with a remand function serving courts in North Wales with a capacity of 2000 men.
Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) provides a dedicated health and wellbeing service supporting patients with often complex needs including physical, mental health and substance misuse issues.
Shifts times can vary but day cover is from 07:00-19:30 and night cover is 19:00-07:30.

Main duties of the job
This is an exciting opportunity to join BCUHB Health & Wellbeing Team at HMP Berwyn, who are an integrated multi-disciplinary service.
To provide leadership and support to a team of Primary Care staff within HMP Berwyn's healthcare team. Undertake and oversee the screening process and assessment for service users using recognised tools and professional knowledge to make appropriate referrals and decisions about immediate healthcare needs. Administer medication as prescribed according to NMC guidelines. As part of the team co-ordinate and respond to emergency calls as necessary. Work in line with National and local protocols with the whole healthcare team to meet HMP Berwyn's health performance indicators, clinical governance standards and other national standards and targets.
