Job summary The Clinical Engineer is responsible for carrying out preventative maintenance, servicing, repair, calibration, and safety testing of a wide range of medical devices to ensure their safe and effective use in patient care. The role requires sound technical knowledge across electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering principles, alongside the ability to diagnose faults, manage equipment performance, and maintain accurate records within a regulated quality framework. The post holder works both independently and collaboratively with clinical users and suppliers, contributing to risk management, equipment lifecycle support, and service delivery, making this a specialist technical role requiring strong practical skills, safety awareness, and a developing depth of engineering expertise in a healthcare environment.
