Job SummaryThis is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Comp Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Serves as a Guard Supervisor for the Security Guard force assigned under the authority of the Senior Commander at IMCOM supported installations.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience with a federal, state, municipal, local, or private protective organization (1) planning the activities of a security guard force shift, (2) performing access control or visitor control center operations, and (3) administering training to ensure personnel are equipped to protect against threats to property and personnel. The definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed equivalent to the next lower grade/position in Federal Service (GS-08).

Major DutiesDirects the work of an organizational unit engaged in providing protective security and physical security services to a military installation.Exercises supervisory responsibility ensuring that an acceptable quality and quantity of work are performed.Makes decisions on work problems presented by subordinate supervisors, lead guards, and subordinates.Prepares employee evaluations after determining appropriate performance standards.Develops training courses based on regulatory requirements and supervises necessary training for guard personnel.Plans and coordinates the activities of three shifts of security guards, through subordinate supervisors.Directs investigation of complaints and violations of regulations reported to security officials.
