Job SummaryYou will serve as a COMPOSITE FABRICATOR in the MRO PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT of FLTREADCEN EAST.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION 1) Leading employees who perform work in the manufacturing, repairing, modifying, and fabricating of aircraft sheet metal, reinforced plastic, fiberglass and composite parts; 2) Examining damaged areas to determine sequence of operations necessary for repairing aircraft sheet metal, reinforced plastic, composite parts and subassemblies; 3) Planning the work by estimating and requesting personnel, tools and supplies in accordance with workload requirements; 4) Reviewing and spot checking work in progress and upon completion to ensure procedures have been followed properly by workers; 5) Demonstrating proper work methods, policies and procedures to employees to ensure work is completed properly; and 6) Setting up and operating various standard industrial machines and equipment used in composite rework operations.. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. Major DutiesYou will manufacture, modify and repair structural parts of aircraft and skin surfaces of wings.You will examine damaged areas, both structural and nonstructural, to determine sequence of operations.You will disassemble fastened and bonded surfaces according to prescribed composite technique.You will make structural airframe repairs and installs them by means of fasteners and/or bonded composite materials.You will fabricate and make structural repairs to metal and laminated type structures.
