We are looking for a Registered Mental Health, Learning Disability, Adult or Childrens Nurse, a Social Worker or Occupational Therapist to join the Dorset Integrated Non-Custodial Service as a Mental Health Practitioner in Dorset's Magistrates' Courts.
This Monday to Friday service supports people with mental health and substance misuse issues, learning disabilities and other vulnerabilities who are going through the criminal justice system. The aim is to improve their overall health outcomes and support them in the reduction of re-offending, identifying vulnerabilities that could lead to crisis point and ensure the right support can be put in place.

Main duties of the job
After a bespoke induction you will work closely with the Crown Court Practitioner to introduce the service into Magistrates' Courts then act as the single point of contact for Judges, Magistrates, Probation, Court Officials, Police and the Prison Service.
Your excellent clinical skills will be used to assess defendants then plan, implement and evaluate their care. You will provide clinical advice and support to colleagues and assist in the production of probation and medical reports.
You will be required to cover periods of leave in Bournemouth Crown Court. Some courts offer free parking, for those that don't you will be able to re-claim the cost of your parking along with any mileage you incur driving between your base and other sites of work.

Registered Practitioner to degree level supplemented by post registration diploma level specialist training and/or short courses or demonstratable extensive experience in the relevant speciality of Registered Mental Health Nurse, Registered Nurse, Registered Learning Disability Nurse, Social Worker or Occupational Therapist
