Job summary
University Hospitals of Northamptonshire (UHN) is seeking a skilled and motivated individual to join our cohesive team of Cardiologists. This post, initially is based across both Kettering General Hospital (KGH) andNorthampton General Hospital (NGH).
UHN has ambitious plans to expand and enhance Cardiology services, aiming to become a nationally recognized centre of excellence. Significant investment has been made, including the establishment of adedicated cardiac MRI scanner at KGH. UHN has 5 cath labs; 3 in KGH, 2 in NGH.
The successful appointee will work alongside consultant colleagues to deliver high-quality elective andinpatient cardiology care for patients on the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) and Oakley Wards. They will also contribute to our comprehensive Interventional Cardiology service

Job description Job responsibilities
The post holder will participate fully in the departments activities, including inpatient and outpatient work. A full range of cardiology emergency and elective patients are admitted to University Hospitals Northamptonshire Trust. Expected to work with consultant colleagues to provide a comprehensive elective and emergency Cardiology service including reciprocal cover for periods of leave. This appointment has a PCI sub-speciality focus and will contribute to elective and non-elective coronary intervention procedures.
The appointee will help maintain the volume of in-patient flow with Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) with a view to patients achieving access to angiography and PCI within 72 hours of admission.
