Requirements
- Proven experience as a BI Developer, Power BI Developer, Data Engineer, Analytics Developer, or Data Scientist
- Extensive hands-on experience with Power BI development and administration
- Strong SQL development skills, including views, stored procedures, and database querying
- Experience developing dashboards, reports, and data models using Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL
- Desirable: Experience developing ETL and data integration processes
- Desirable: Experience gathering requirements and working closely with stakeholders
- Desirable: Ability to design and document technical solutions and data architectures
- Desirable: Strong communication and presentation skills
- Desirable: Experience with Oracle Database
- Desirable: Python or R experience for predictive modelling and data science
- Desirable: Experience with data warehousing and dimensional modelling
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level Power BI dashboards and reports
- Create semantic models, datasets, and data pipelines to support self-service analytics
- Build visualisations that provide actionable business insights
- Develop calculated measures and data models using DAX and Power Query
- Implement row-level security and governance controls across reporting environments
- Analyse legacy reporting solutions and design modern Power BI alternatives
- Develop automation solutions to streamline business processes and administrative functions
- Create predictive models and analytical solutions using Python or R
- Support automation initiatives using technologies such as Power Automate and Blue Prism
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through data and automation technologies
- Gather and document reporting and analytical requirements from stakeholders
- Facilitate workshops, user interviews, and requirements sessions
- Present findings, recommendations, and solutions to senior stakeholders
- Serve as our subject matter expert for Power BI and data analytics
- Support and train business users in self-service reporting capabilities

We are seeking an experienced Business Intelligence Developer to join our growing Business Intelligence and Automation function. The role supports our digital transformation strategy and helps advance automation, data integration, business intelligence, and self-service reporting across the organisation. You will work with technologies including Power BI, Power Automate, SQL, Python, and R, and help shape future data architecture and governance standards. Were looking for a technically strong BI professional who can discuss architecture with developers, present insights to senior stakeholders, and translate complex requirements into practical solutions. The position is based in Guildford, with onsite work 1–2 days a week. Salary: £45,000–£60,000.
