O Mātou Kōrero: About Us Auckland Council makes appointments to boards in line with the Appointments and Remuneration Policy for Board Members of Council Organisations. Auckland Airport Community Trust was established in 2003 by Auckland International Airport Limited as a condition set by the Environment Court following approval for a second runway. As part of this decision, Auckland International Airport Limited contributes funding each year to the Trust to be used for the benefit of South Auckland communities within the Trust’s area of benefit.

The Trust grants funds for the mitigation of adverse impacts associated with aircraft noise. This includes support for acoustic treatments as well as other positive effects on the environment to offset the impact of airport operations. The area of benefit is defined by the High and Medium Aircraft Noise Areas and Aircraft Noise Notification Areas in the Auckland Unitary Plan. These areas are mostly within the Māngere-Ōtāhuhu and Otara-Papatoetoe Local Board areas. https://www.aucklandairportcommunitytrust.org.nz/ We are proud to be recognised for our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
