Job summary

We are currently looking for a highly motivated receptionist to provide a first class patient focused service within Cavoc, University Hospital Llandough (UHL).

Main duties of the job

Main duties consist of being the first point of contact for patients coming into CAVOC for orthopaedic surgery.

You will need to be proficient in clinical systems for inputting patient data on admission. Obtain patient details e.g. Gp's name, date of birth, address etc from the PMS system and check with patient on arrival.

File or record investigative results as required.

To check all the patients notes for the following day against the theatre lists, ensuring all notes are located in readiness for the following day.

Print out the theatre lists for the following day from the in house computer system and distribute within the unit.

You will be required to manage a busy telephone system .

You will be expected to be proactive in requesting patients notes from Medical Records in a timely manner ahead of proposed surgery.

You will work alongside many members of a Multi-disciplinary team daily.

Person Specification

Qualifications Essential

Good standard of Education. GCSE Level or Equivalent experience

Experience Essential

Previous Reception Experience

Desirable

Good Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word & Excel.

Special Knowlege Desirable

Experience of using PMS & Theatreman packages

Personal Qualities Essential

Excellent communication, written and spoken.
