About this role

Job summary

As part of the multi-disciplinary paediatric eye team, the successful applicant will carry out general optometric assessment of children attending Penguin Eye Clinic. Patients are drawn from a variety of specialist clinics, including Genetics, Neurology and Orthoptics, as well as, General Paediatric Ophthalmology.

Main duties of the job

The 2 sessions will focus on Paediatric refraction, but will also include access to OCT and other diagnostic methods.

It is also expected that the complex case-load seen will enhance the CPD of the successful applicant.

To provide Optometry services as an autonomous practitioner, but within the multi-disciplinary team.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

BSc (Hons) Ophthalmic optics or optometry Registered with the GOC Undertaken advanced clinical training through continuing professional development Educated to Masters level

Desirable

Higher degree or College of Optometrists higher qualifications

Experience Essential

Sufficient qualification experience
