We are currently recruiting into our fantastic Trust. Here at Portsmouth University Hospital NHS Trust Audiology department, we are proud to introduce ourselves and share with you that we are looking to recruit a Band 5 Audiologist to a new role that has arisen the department. We are expanding our complex adult services and are looking to welcome a new member to this established team.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an Audiologist with general adult Audiology experience. The successful candidate will have AHCS/RCCP or HCPC registration (pre-registered graduates and those working towards state registration will be considered). Excellent clinical, communication and organisational skills are essential.

Job description Job responsibilities
Ideally you will be looking for a Trust that will enable you to grow, and as a busy training department, we are used to supporting staff to accomplish new skills. The department provides a wide variety of Audiology services, including paediatric assessment and rehabilitation, specialist Tinnitus services, Vestibular assessment and rehabilitation as well as implantable devices. There are opportunities to be involved with service review and development, and have supported current staff with the completion if further training and qualification, including STP and HTS modules.
We cover a large geographical area with clinics in Hampshire, western West Sussex and the Isle of Wight. Applications for part time hours will be welcomed. If you are not local to us already, you may not know a lot about Portsmouth, we do have much to be proud of and it is all on our doorstop!

Person Specification
Experience Essential
Adult hearing assessment and patient management. Hearing aid fitting (with REMs), follow up and repair. Audiometry and middle ear analysis to support ENT, including experience with children over 3. Communication with multidisciplinary teams ensuring affective patient management.
Skills and Knowledge Essential
Relevant practical knowledge and experience. Patient handling, counselling and all necessary skills involved in adult Audiology working. Experience of using all relevant diagnostic, rehabilitative and clinical instrumentation including hearing assessment and the fitting and verification of hearing aids. Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports. Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures.
Qualifications Essential
PTP or BSc in Audiology or equivalent, with the completion of associated clinical placement. Clinical skills and experience to appropriate standard of independent practice as supported by, or working towards, State Registration.
