The Adult Audiology Department at Queen's Hospital, Burton is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Audiologist to join our small, friendly, and busy service. This post is suited to an Audiologist who will be looking to consolidate their formal education and build on their clinical skills in the Adult field.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop clinical autonomy while working within a supportive team environment. The successful applicant will contribute to the delivery of a high-quality, district-wide adult audiology service across sites operated by the Trust.

To assess and treat own patient caseload, and maintain associated records.

To perform Audiology assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.

Burton-On-Trent is situated with easy links to all of the Midlands having excellent road (A38, A50, M1, M42) and rail links.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to work in a wide range of clinical settings, including the various hospitals run by the trust. They will be required to assess, fit, verify and maintain all types of hearing aid to the adult population. They will undertake a full range of diagnostic clinical tests, providing rehabilitative care plans where required. They will carry out a variety of adult rehabilitation appointments, as well as testing both adults and children during ENT clinics. In addition, the post holder will be fully involved in making recommendations to the clinical lead for service development.

The successful applicant will join our Adult Team of Audiologists, Hearing Therapists and Assistant Audiologists, to provide a comprehensive diagnostic and rehabilitative service which will include working with patients on the Complex and Direct Referral pathways.

The department also works closely with and provides support for ENT clinics. In addition to this the department provides a comprehensive tinnitus clinic.

You will be expected to work across three sites, Queens Hospital Burton, Sir Robert Peel Hospital, Tamworth, and the Samuel Johnson Hospital, Lichfield, so a willingness to travel is essential.

A willingness to undertake further training is essential, in house training and full clinical supervision will be supported by the department.

BSc in Audiology or equivalent with previous experience

Desirable

RCCP or HCPC registered (or eligible for registration)

Experience Essential

Experience of working with elderly and/or hard of hearing patients. Post Graduate Qualification Experience

Previous work in NHS Audiology Department

Skills and Ability Essential

Evidence of good IT skills for maintaining up to date patient records

Previous use of Auditbase and a variety of hearing aid software
