Job summary
As part of Secure care - Tweed HBR Learning Disability Ward require a Band 6 Clinical Nurse Lead.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver compassionate care with a focus on empathy, respect, dignity and kindness to 7 gentlemen.
The successful candidate will be required to support the MDT developing collaborative needs-based care plans, through assessment planning implementation and evaluation. They will also be expected to facilitate and co-ordinate clinical practice on the ward.
The successful candidate will be expected to act as identified deputy in the absence of the ward manager. This will include supporting the Junior Nurses, Student Nurses and wider staff team.
Experience in leading on training and development is essential as well as a knowledge with regards to supporting clinical supervisions and staff appraisals.
Main duties of the job
The individual will be responsible for leading the team and providing high quality , patient focused, evidence based care under the support of the ward manager. We are seeking confident individuals who are competent in leading in the delivery of high quality nursing care and service development. You should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to demonstrate a warm, patient centred approach to care. You must demonstrate effective leadership skills, engage in multi-disciplinary team working; developing collaborative, needs based care plans, through assessment and formulation. You will be expected to facilitate and coordinate clinical practice, ensuring high standards of evidence based care and treatment during supervision of staff nurses and nursing assistants; taking a lead in, and supporting the staff team with complex patient care for both mental and physical health needs.
The post holder will be expected to assist with the implementation of all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes; ensuring that ongoing work towards the trust and national targets is progressed; oversee the implementation of policies and procedures and acting to correct any discrepancies; lead and supervise the staff over a 24 hour period and in the absence of the ward manager, you will be expected to support the team.
