About this role
Job summary Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse looking for a rewarding role where you can truly make a difference? Ashgate Hospice is recruiting Registered Nurses to join our Inpatient Unit (IPU). Following a new funding agreement with Derby and Derbyshire Integrated Care Board, we are able to increase our inpatient capacity from eight to 10 beds, creating additional roles within our team. Youll be part of a highly supportive multidisciplinary team, working in an environment where there is time to care, strong professional relationships, and a genuine focus on dignity, comfort and person-centred care. Whether you already have hospice experience or are keen to develop your skills in palliative care, we would welcome your application.
Main duties of the job As a Registered Nurse within our Inpatient Unit, you will deliver high-quality, compassionate palliative and end of life nursing care to patients and those important to them. You will assess and respond to complex clinical needs, ensuring care is individualised and focused on comfort, dignity and quality of life. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to shared clinical decision-making and continuity of care across the patient journey. You will support patients and families through emotionally challenging times, offering skilled clinical care alongside sensitive communication and emotional support. You will also contribute to the day-to-day running of the inpatient unit, including taking on shift leadership responsibilities when required and providing guidance and support to junior colleagues. Your role will help sustain inpatient capacity during a defined funding period and support the ongoing delivery of safe, person-centred care.
