Requirements
- Experience designing enterprise data platforms and architectures
- Strong understanding of cloud-based data solutions, preferably Azure and Databricks
- Knowledge of data governance, security, and master data management
- Experience with relational and analytical data models
- Desirable: Experience with Databricks, PostgreSQL, and Power BI
- Desirable: Knowledge of modern data mesh or data lakehouse architectures
Responsibilities
- Define the overall data architecture, standards, and governance framework for the solution
- Design the target-state data architecture and integration patterns
- Define data models, standards, and governance policies
- Establish data security, quality, and retention principles
- Work with business and technical stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business objectives
- Provide architectural oversight across data engineering and analytics delivery teams

We are advertising a six-month Data Architect contract based in Glasgow, with two days per week on-site. The rate is £600 per day, inside IR35 via umbrella. The role supports operational reporting, analytics, and future AI initiatives by ensuring data is structured, secured, and managed effectively.
