About this role
Salary: £100,000 - 115,000 per year
Requirements
- Proven experience leading successful software engineering teams, ideally working with C/C++
- Extensive knowledge of embedded software development for performance-critical or high-throughput applications
- A strong track record of designing, developing, and validating embedded or high-performance computing software
- Ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear development plans and deliverable outcomes
- Experience with CI/CD practices, software planning tools, and agile development workflows
- Relevant degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience
- Understanding of wireless communications principles, or the enthusiasm and aptitude to develop expertise in this area
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture
- Define and evolve software engineering standards, development practices, and design approaches to support continuous improvement
- Provide technical leadership throughout the software development lifecycle, from architecture and design through implementation, verification, and release
- Work with multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver project milestones on time and to a high standard
- Oversee the implementation and optimisation of wireless communication software across heterogeneous computing platforms
- Act as a technical point of contact for customers, providing project updates, gathering requirements, and resolving technical challenges
- Support engineers career development through coaching and knowledge sharing
