Salary: £90,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements
- Strong software engineering background and experience as a Software Architect, ideally with C# and .NET; strong transferable experience will also be considered.
- Experience designing complex cloud applications, ideally in multi-tenant environments.
- Experience building APIs and working with databases and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of sound software design principles and security best practices.
- Experience supporting quality through testing, code reviews, and clear technical standards.
- Ability to communicate architectural decisions and collaborate with engineering and product teams.
- Interest in improving development practices, including practical experience using AI tools.
- Must be eligible for UK Security Clearance.
Responsibilities
- Own software architecture and design, translating complex requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Guide the development of cloud applications, taking security, performance, scalability, and maintainability into account.
- Stay involved throughout delivery, from design and implementation through testing and validation.
- Set technical standards, review designs, and support engineers through mentoring and collaboration.
- Work with product teams to shape requirements and guide platform development.

This hands-on individual contributor role offers technical ownership and influence over architectural direction and technical decisions, working closely with engineering teams to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient software. We can appoint at Senior or Lead Architect level, depending on experience. The package is £90,000–£110,000 depending on experience, plus an 8–10% bonus, pension, and medical insurance.
