General Production Worker @ Aerotek

Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThis role involves working on production lines to support general labour activities such as packing, boxing, and packaging food products. You will handle repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment, contribute to efficient product flow, and help maintain quality and safety standards across multiple production areas.

Responsibilities

• Perform general labour duties including packing, boxing, and packaging products on various production lines.
• Work efficiently on repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail and product quality.
• Operate basic production and packaging machinery as required and follow established operating procedures.
• Load and unload trays and products on the production lines, including cakes, muffins, bagels, English muffins, cookies, and other baked goods.
• Align trays, cup products, and remove trays from lines for boxing in the muffin production area.
• Carry out packaging and boxing tasks in crumpet and related product lines, ensuring correct counts and proper sealing.
• Handle loading and unloading of bagel trays and package cakes into boxes in hotter production environments.
• Perform packaging, quality assurance checks, and boxing in the cookie production area.
• Lift and move items weighing up to 3050 lbs safely and in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Follow all safety, hygiene, and quality standards throughout the production process.
• Participate in cross-training and work in different plants and production areas as assigned.
• Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet production targets and resolve minor issues on the line.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and promptly report any safety or quality concerns.

Essential Skills

• Proven general production or general labour experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Hands-on experience with packaging, packing, and boxing products on a production line.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 3050 lbs on a regular basis.
• Comfort working with repetitive tasks while maintaining consistent quality and productivity.
• Experience with basic machine operating and loading/unloading on production lines.
• Ability to work in varying temperature conditions, including mildly hot and hotter environments.
• Capability to work in different production areas and adapt quickly to cross-training requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to following safety and quality procedures.

Work is primarily on the cakes line for a new brownie product, but all employees are cross-trained and expected to be comfortable working in every area. In Plant 1, the focus is on muffins in a non-hot environment, aligning trays, cupping, removing trays from the line, and boxing. Plant 2 handles crumpets and related products, with an emphasis on packaging and boxing in a similarly non-hot environment. Plant 3 includes cakes packaging, bagels, and English muffins in a hotter environment, where employees load and unload bagel trays and package cakes into boxes.

Plant 4 focuses on cookies in a mildly hot environment, with duties in packaging, quality assurance, and boxing. The work is hands-on, fast-paced, and requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 3050 lbs, and wearing appropriate attire suitable for a food production facility.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ancaster, ON.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.70 - $21.30/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
