About this role

Job Title: Production Worker Polyurethane DepartmentJob DescriptionJoin a high-volume manufacturing environment where you help transform liquid polyurethane into finished foam earplugs. As a Production Worker in the Polyurethane (Poly) department, you operate production equipment, support the assembly line, and ensure that each earplug meets quality and packaging standards. This is a hands-on role that involves repetitive tasks, attention to detail, and working efficiently as part of a production team.

Responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment safely and efficiently, including loading materials, unloading finished product, and performing basic troubleshooting as needed.
  • Work at a stationary desktop table to repeatedly press white plastic inserts into metal plate tooling, ensuring each insert is properly seated to form correctly shaped earplugs.
  • Perform kitting duties by removing used inserts from metal plates, cleaning inserts and bases, stacking them on carts, and supplying cleaned tooling back to the production line for reuse.
  • Conduct inspection and packaging at the end of the line by examining foam earplugs one-by-one as they exit the curing process, checking shape, firmness, softness, and overall quality.
  • Use a small scale to periodically weigh batches of earplugs (e.g., 30 units at a time) and confirm that the weight falls within the required deviation.
  • As boxes fill at the end of the line, assemble flat cardboard into new boxes, replace full boxes, tape and label completed boxes, and move them onto pallets for shipment, typically handling around 60 boxes per shift.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including general cleaning tasks around the production line and workstation.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment while working on the manufacturing line.
  • Support team members across different stations as needed and adapt to changing production demands, including busy, multitasking-intensive tasks.

Essential Skills

  • Previous manufacturing experience in a production, general labor, or assembly line environment.
  • Manual dexterity in both hands to perform repeated pushing and punching of plastic inserts and other small, precise tasks.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime as required by production schedules.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, busy environment that involves multitasking and repetitive motions.
  • Capability to stand for a full shift, aside from scheduled breaks, and to perform light to moderate physical tasks such as lifting, moving boxes, and working at waist-level conveyor belts.
  • Strong attention to detail for quality inspection, including visual checks and basic weight verification using a scale.
  • Reliable use of steel-toed shoes and adherence to all safety requirements on the manufacturing floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with machine operation or machine operating in a manufacturing setting.
  • Background in quality inspection, production, or general labor roles.
  • Ability to work effectively on an assembly line with consistent output and quality standards.
  • Willingness to work in areas where additional protective equipment such as a respirator may be required.
  • Comfort performing repetitive tasks for extended periods while maintaining accuracy and productivity.

Why Work Here? You join a reputable, well-established manufacturing organization that values growth and performance. Team members start above typical entry-level pay rates and can earn increases in role and wage through strong performance during their first year. Comprehensive benefits are available and begin on the first day of employment, supporting your health, well-being, and long-term stability. The culture emphasizes advancement opportunities, safety, and consistent, reliable work in a structured environment.

Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing line environment operating Monday through Friday on three shifts: 1st shift from 6:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., 2nd shift from 2:45 p.m. to 11:15 p.m., and 3rd shift from 10:45 p.m. to 7:15 a.m., with the week ending on Saturday morning for the overnight shift. The production area is kept cool, at approximately 65 degrees, and includes conveyor belts at about waist height and stationary desks for certain tasks. Some positions provide chairs, but you must be prepared to stand for the full shift aside from breaks. Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and hearing protection are required at all times, and there is one area where a respirator may be needed. The environment is busy and fast-paced, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and teamwork.
