Maintenance Electrician @ Aerotek

Job Title: Maintenance ElectricianJob DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs production equipment used in highvolume foodprocessing operations. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, solid electrical knowledge, and familiarity with automated and packaging systems to keep equipment running safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and emergency repair on processing equipment, bottle filling machines, and plastic blow molding equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues on production machinery, including identifying root causes such as sensor failures and understanding how they affect machine performance.
• Carry out mechanical troubleshooting and repairs on conveyors, chains, sprockets, gear boxes, limit switches, lasers, and other mechanical components.
• Conduct light electrical troubleshooting, including changing motors and wiring, and working with 480V and 240V singlephase and threephase systems, drives, and contactors.
• Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic valves and systems, as well as hydraulic cylinders and related components.
• Service and repair centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, including PC pumps, ensuring proper operation in a highvolume production environment.
• Perform MIG welding on stainless steel and carbon steel components; support TIG welding tasks as needed after training.
• Use hand tools such as grinders and drills, and operate forklifts as needed to support maintenance and repair activities.
• Support automation and PLC troubleshooting to help maintain reliable operation of automated equipment and control systems.
• Work on packaging and bottling equipment, particularly fillers and blow molding machines, ensuring consistent and accurate operation across multiple product lines.
• Comply with OSHA health and safety rules and follow all site safety procedures and guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform general housekeeping tasks such as sweeping and cleaning up.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support maintenance operations and production needs across various departments.
• At least 2+ years of experience in mechanical maintenance within a food production environment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with handson experience troubleshooting and repairing production equipment.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and emergency repair on processing, bottling, and blow molding equipment.
• Proficiency in mechanical troubleshooting of conveyors, chains, sprockets, gear boxes, limit switches, and related components.
• Ability to perform light electrical troubleshooting, including changing motors and wiring on 480V and 240V singlephase and threephase systems.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Buttonwillow, CA.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.50/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
