Skilled LabourerJob DescriptionThis role is for an experienced skilled labourer supporting an industrial construction project in North Vancouver, BC. You will work with the general contractor on a variety of tasks including cladding installation, carpentry-related work, material handling, minor structure building, and site clean-up. The position is expected to run through the Christmas break, with the potential for extension based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Perform cladding installation on commercial or industrial structures in accordance with project specifications and safety standards.
• Support carpentry-related activities, including assisting with building minor structures and completing basic construction tasks as directed.
• Move, load, and unload construction materials safely and efficiently around the job site.
• Assist in building minor structures and performing general construction duties to support project progress.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area by performing regular site clean-up and debris removal.
• Follow all site safety protocols, including proper use of fall protection and adherence to industrial safety regulations.
• Communicate clearly with supervisors and crew members to coordinate daily tasks and resolve issues on site.
• Arrive on time and prepared for first shift work, consistently meeting attendance and reliability expectations.
• Cooperate with any required background check process as part of site access and compliance requirements.
• Work overtime hours when required to meet project timelines and support critical project milestones.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 3 years of construction experience on commercial or industrial sites.
• Proven experience with cladding installation on commercial or industrial projects.
• Valid Fall Protection (Fall Pro) ticket.
• Reliable transportation to and from the North Vancouver industrial site.
• Strong communication skills to work effectively with supervisors and crew members.
• Ability and willingness to submit to a background check.
• Capability to perform physically demanding construction tasks, including lifting, carrying, and working at heights.
• Ability to work full-time first shift hours and overtime when required.

You will work primarily on first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, typically 810 hours per day with overtime available as needed. The environment is an active industrial job site with ongoing construction activities, where strict adherence to safety protocols and use of appropriate personal protective equipment is required. Work is performed outdoors and indoors depending on project needs, and involves physical labour, working at heights, and regular interaction with a general contractor and construction crew.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of North Vancouver, BC.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $28.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
