Job Title: AssemblerJob DescriptionAs an Assembler, you will have the opportunity to work in both the R&D Lab and assembly areas, reading manufacturing drawings and operating various tools including a drill press, cold saw, rivet gun, cordless drills, staple gun, and measuring tape (imperial). You may also receive training to operate robotic welding and stamping machines. Part of your role will involve inspecting units for service needs and assisting with bundling cables. In the R&D area, you will act as a production assistant, cutting insulation and coating products with chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Read manufacturing drawings and schematics.
• Operate various hand and power tools including drill press and cold saw.
• Inspect units for service needs and bundle cables.
• Cut insulation and coat products with chemicals in the R&D area.
• Use cutting/measuring machines to cut hoses to specific lengths.
• Attach gas fittings and assemble components of heaters.
• Test assembled heaters and connect cables and fittings.
• Operate machines such as brake press and grinder for metal manipulation.

Essential Skills

• Ability to use hand tools and cordless drills.
• Proficient in reading a measuring tape (imperial).
• Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Experience reading schematics or blueprints.
• Metal fabrication experience.
• Experience with saw or drill press.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Ability to be trained on various machines.
• Experience in mechanical or electrical assembly environments.

Work EnvironmentYou will work the day shift from 8am to 4:30pm, with occasional extended hours during the busy winter season and potentially on Saturdays.

The contract runs until April 2027, with the possibility of becoming permanent. The work environment is a noisy, busy manufacturing department that is clean and well-organized, located at a transit-accessible site in Edmonton. You will work in an assembly cell with 4-5 employees, which may expand to 10 in the winter.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
