General Production Worker @ Aerotek

Job Title: General Production WorkerJob DescriptionThe person Inc is seeking a General Production Worker to support the manufacturing of metal tracks for garage doors. In this role, you operate production machinery, assist with banding and bundling, and perform general labor tasks such as cleaning and packaging to ensure products are prepared efficiently and safely for shipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate machinery to bend metal tracks used in garage door production, following established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Assist with banding materials and products to prepare them for bundling and shipment.
• Perform manual bundling and operate an electric strapping machine to create secure bundles.
• Shrink wrap bundles to protect products during storage and transportation.
• Carry out general labor tasks including cleaning up work areas to maintain a safe and organized production environment.
• Support production, assembly, and packaging activities as needed to meet daily output and quality targets.
• Handle materials and products safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs as part of regular duties.
• Work collaboratively with other operators on the line to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of orders.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 6 months experience in general labor within a manufacturing, shop, or warehouse environment.
• Ability to lift and safely handle items weighing up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Experience operating machines or equipment in a production or manufacturing setting.
• Experience in production, assembly, or packaging work.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, labor-intensive environment.
• Steel-toed work boots required for safety on the production floor.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing related to windows, doors, or similar products is an asset.
• General labor experience in industrial or warehouse settings beyond the minimum requirement is beneficial.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to safety procedures.
• Strong attention to detail when operating machinery and preparing bundles.
• Reliability and punctuality for shift-based work.

Open shifts currently include day shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday (8-hour shifts), and an afternoon shift running Monday to Thursday from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am (10-hour shifts). The workplace is a manufacturing facility focused on production, assembly, and packaging of metal tracks for garage doors. Team members work on and around machinery and an electric strapping machine, and perform manual material handling tasks. Steel-toed work boots are required as part of the dress code to ensure safety on the production floor.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abbotsford, BC.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.40 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
