Responsibilities
- Service and repair valves and pumps using basic hand and air tools such as impact wrenches, air grinders, drills, and torches.
- Disassemble pumps and valves, inspect components, and perform mechanical repairs and adjustments as needed.
- Perform mechanical helper duties in the shop, supporting technicians with assembly, disassembly, and general maintenance tasks.
- After training, travel into the field with a lead technician to perform valve and pump assembly and service work in power plants.
- Assist with installation and service of mechanical equipment in industrial settings, following safety procedures and work instructions.
- Handle physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving, and positioning tools and equipment in shop and field environments.
- Use mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot basic issues with valves, pumps, and related components under guidance.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all safety protocols and site rules while working in loud, dirty, and industrial power plant environments.
- Be available for flexible work hours, including longer shifts during outages and occasional on-call weekend work.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
