NOWEssential Duties & Responsibilities
- Fabricate, fit, assemble, and install piping systems aboard ships and other marine vessels according to blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
- Perform TIG/GTAW and Stick/SMAW pipe welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other marine-grade piping materials.
- Fit and weld pipe in multiple positions, including 2G, 5G, and 6G, while maintaining proper alignment, fit-up, and weld quality.
- Measure, cut, bevel, tack, and prepare pipe using grinders, cutting torches, saws, and other shipyard fabrication tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and piping specifications to complete installations accurately.
- Install and repair piping systems, valves, flanges, supports, and related components in tight and confined shipboard spaces.
- Follow all shipyard safety procedures, including proper PPE, hot-work requirements, confined-space procedures, and quality standards throughout fabrication and installation.
Qualifications
- Must have 5+ years of previous shipyard experience as a pipefitter or pipe welder
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Tampa, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
