This role combines mechanical assembly, wire and cable harnessing, electronic assembly, firmware loading, functional testing, and hands-on troubleshooting, all performed in a highly collaborative, computer-driven production environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble electro-mechanical subassemblies by following detailed computer-based work instructions and build plans with no deviation.
  • Perform mechanical assembly using hand and small power tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, torque wrenches, needle nose pliers, wire strippers, and crimpers.
  • Complete wire harness assembly and electrical connections to modules and PCBAs by hand, ensuring proper routing, crimping, and termination.
  • Use the manufacturing execution system (42Q) and shop order system daily to open work instructions, record completion of tasks, and maintain accurate electronic device history records.
  • Install firmware on PCBAs by opening the appropriate program on a laptop, running scripts, and uploading firmware according to defined procedures.
  • Conduct functional testing by selecting the correct test area in the software, entering and running test codes, and monitoring test execution and results.
  • Attach test cables to subassemblies, load test programs, and run scripts to verify performance and functionality.
  • Review automated pass/fail results in the software, document outcomes, and take appropriate actions based on test status.
  • Troubleshoot failures and defects by identifying error codes or symptoms, investigating root causes, and making necessary repairs or corrections to mechanical, electrical, or electronic components.
  • Document every step of the manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting process in the MES to ensure complete and accurate traceability.
  • Follow all work instructions exactly, including build plans and verification steps, and escalate issues that prevent adherence to established processes.

  • Daily use capability with Outlook and Microsoft Teams for communication and coordination.
  • Ability to accurately enter data in a shop order system and track all work in a manufacturing execution system, specifically 42Q or similar tools.
  • Capability to follow detailed work instructions and build plans exactly, with high attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Experience with electronic assembly, including working with PCBAs and electronic modules.
  • Testing and troubleshooting experience involving electronics, including using tools such as oscilloscopes and other diagnostic equipment.
