YOUR ROLE

As part of your studies, you are currently looking for an end-of-studies internship (final year of an engineering school or Master’s program in Data Science, AI, Computer Science or Business Analytics). You will join the Data Assets team within the Assets Transformation Department. The team drives the transformation of CMA CGM’s asset-related activities by using data as a strategic business enabler: building and governing sustainable Data Products, improving data quality and accelerating the adoption of data-driven solutions.

CMA CGM operates a large network of terminals that use different Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), with heterogeneous data models, naming conventions, business definitions and levels of data maturity. To build a global analytical view of terminal performance through a common Terminal Data Product, this data must first be understood, qualified and aligned: a phase that is currently complex and time-consuming. Your role will be to explore how artificial intelligence can accelerate and automate this data qualification work, and to develop a prototype that helps Data teams and business experts understand, qualify and align data from multiple TOS environments. You will work on a strategic initiative, alongside data experts, business stakeholders and operational teams, at the crossroads of AI, data governance, data quality and business transformation.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

TOS data analysis: You will analyze data models and metadata from the various Terminal Operating Systems, identify the common business concepts needed for terminal performance management, and build a consolidated view of the data available across environments. AI-assisted qualification: You will explore AI capabilities (LLMs, embeddings, AI-generated documentation, hybrid approaches combining AI and business rules) to speed up data structure understanding, semantic matching between fields, identification of similar business concepts, data documentation and source-to-target mapping proposals.

Prototype development: You will develop a prototype that suggests data mappings and semantic relationships, and define an AI-assisted data qualification methodology. Evaluation & validation: You will assess the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated recommendations, and define validation approaches involving Data Owners and business experts. Target data model & scaling: You will help define a harmonized target data model and a first version of a common business data reference model for terminal analytics, and make recommendations for scaling the approach to future Data Products.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Education: Final-year student at an engineering school or in a Master’s program specializing in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science or Business Analytics. Technical skills: Python and SQL Data analysis and data modeling Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning Knowledge of LLMs, NLP, embeddings or Data Governance is a plus Languages: English, french Personal qualities: You enjoy solving complex business problems through data and technology.
