About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement professional to join a leading organisation supporting the Higher Education sector as a Category Manager.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing category strategies, leading complex procurement projects, managing framework agreements, and building strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Working within a collaborative procurement team, you will play a key role in delivering commercial value and supporting strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver category management strategies.
- Lead end-to-end procurement and tendering exercises.
- Manage framework agreements throughout their lifecycle.
- Conduct market analysis and provide commercial insights.
- Build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- Monitor supplier performance, contracts, risks, and compliance.
- Engage with stakeholders to identify procurement opportunities and requirements.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant legislation and governance requirements.
- Deliver savings, efficiencies, and value-for-money outcomes.
About You
- Previous experience in Category Management
- Expertise in sourcing, tendering, and contract management.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and commercial negotiations.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
- Knowledge of UK Public Sector Procurement regulations.
- Knowledge of Frameworks.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working within a public sector, education, NHS, local authority, or similar environment is desirable.
- CIPS/MCIPS qualification (or working towards) is advantageous.
