About this role
CAD Team Leader – Future CAD Engineering Manager Opportunity
Location: Ripley, Derbyshire
Full-time, office-based
You've developed the technical skills. Now you're ready for the next challenge.
Perhaps you're already the person colleagues turn to when they need help with a difficult design.
Maybe you're regularly checking other people's work, helping junior designers or keeping projects moving, but your current company doesn't have a clear route into leadership.
We're working with a growing engineering organisation offering an opportunity for an experienced CAD Engineer to begin that progression.
The opportunity
You'll become the day-to-day technical leader of a four-person CAD team, responsible for coordinating work, maintaining design quality and supporting colleagues.
You won't be expected to immediately take on every responsibility associated with formal people management. You'll work alongside the Engineering Manager, who retains those responsibilities while supporting your development.
And importantly, you'll continue doing the engineering work you enjoy.
Your development
The company is offering structured leadership training and practical experience, with the role intended to develop towards CAD Engineering Manager as the team grows.
A formal review will take place after 12 months, or sooner if the team reaches five CAD Engineers, with further progression dependent on performance.
About you
You'll have at least five years of mechanical CAD experience, strong manufacturing drawing knowledge and experience mentoring, checking or coordinating the work of others.
You should be organised, approachable and interested in developing as a leader.
If you've been waiting for the right opportunity to move from Senior CAD Engineer into leadership, this could be your next step. Get in touch for more details.
