Who We're Looking For
We welcome applications from professionals with British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) Level 2 Transthoracic Accreditation (both the theoretical and practical assessments) who are motivated, skilled, and keen to develop. You should hold one of the following qualifications:
BSc in Clinical PhysiologyMSc Clinical ScienceCertificate of Completion for the ETP (CCETP)/PG Cert in Clinical EchocardiographyBTEC/HNC in Medical Physics and Physiological Measurements
Registration or eligibility for registration with RCCP, AHCS, or HCPC is required, depending on your training pathway.
Main duties of the job
About the Role
As part of our Echocardiography service, you will:
Perform routine and complex transthoracic echocardiography and cardiac ultrasound investigations.Independently interpret findings and produce accurate, high-quality clinical reports aligned with local and national guidelines.Communicate results clearly to clinicians, including those without specialist echocardiography experience.Contribute to maintaining high clinical standards and continuous service improvement.

Qualifications Essential
Clinical Physiology (Cardiology) / Healthcare Science (Cardiology) or equivalent qualification or Relevant degree and The Certificate of Completion for the Echocardiography Training Programme (CCETP) Registered or eligible to register with RCCP, AHCS or HCPC or Eligible for PTP/STP equivalence BSE written assessment completed Near completion of BSE practical assessment
Desirable
Active membership of the British Society of Echocardiography Immediate Life Support SCST Part I & II BSE accreditation
Experience Essential
Experience in providing specialised, unsupervised diagnostic reports to an appropriate level and highlight any urgent findings Experience of providing a wide range of diagnostic investigations

Professional membership of relevant professional body obtained by examination Experience in supervision and assessment Basic theory knowledge of Echocardiography and practical experience in Echocardiography
Further Training Essential
Willingness to undertake further education to attain relevant qualifications for the post
