Were looking for a Programme Team Leader to play a vital part in delivering a highquality diabetic retinal screening service for people living with diabetes across our Greater Manchester North programme. Youll work closely with the Programme Manager to support and guide a dedicated team of retinal screeners in a friendly, communitybased setting. Youll also help coordinate staffing arrangements, including planning rotas and providing cover during periods of annual leave or sickness, helping to ensure a smooth and reliable service for patients.
Main duties of the job Provide supervision, mentoring, training and where necessary challenge inappropriate behaviour in order to ensure a consistently high-quality diabetic eye screening and grading service is provided by all members of the Programme Assist members of the teams to complete their level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners Qualification and ensure teams are kept informed of development, new policies, procedures and working practices Assist the Programme Manager in the completion and dissemination of the screening and grading schedule including the staff rota Working with the Programme Manager, co-ordinate the input of members of the team to ensure cover is always provided for the screening clinics and grading service Monitor the clinic environments across the Programme area in order that clinical and organisational standards are maintained Contribute to the goals and objectives of the whole Diabetic Eye Screening Programmes Screening and Grading Team and demonstrate team leadership Oversee all compliance carried out by team leaders venue/screeners and assist where required Adopt a problem solving approach and use your best judgement and analysis in order to identify solutions to challenges in day to day operations Maintain the highest standards of patient care and service delivery

The Opportunity We are looking for a passionate and experienced Programme Team Leader to play a key role in delivering a high quality diabetic retinal screening service across Greater Manchester North.
In this role, you will work closely with the Programme Manager to lead, support and develop a team of retinal screeners. You will be at the heart of ensuring a seamless, patient focused service, combining strong people leadership with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities Lead, coach and support a team of screeners to deliver excellent screening and grading services Provide mentoring, training and constructive challenge to maintain high clinical standards Support team members in achieving their Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners Assist with staff rota planning and ensure adequate clinic and grading cover at all times Monitor clinic environments to ensure compliance with clinical and organisational standards Work collaboratively with the Programme Manager to meet programme objectives Oversee compliance processes and provide support where required Promote a proactive, solution focused approach to daily challenges Maintain the highest standards of patient care and service delivery What We Are Looking For Essential:
Diabetic Retinopathy Screening Diploma or Level 3 Diploma for Health Screeners GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organisational and prioritisation skills Ability to lead, motivate and develop others High standard of grading in line with Internal Quality Assurance Desirable:
Previous experience in a supervisory or team leadership role Experience in rota planning or operational coordination
