An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Practice Nurse to join our group team to work across The Cheetham Hill Medical Centre and The Neville Family Medical Centre.
Main duties of the job
Clinical Care & Patient Services
Manage and run chronic disease clinics (e.g. diabetes, asthma, COPD) Deliver cervical screening (smears) Perform health screenings and assessmentsCarry out:
Blood pressure monitoring Urinalysis Phlebotomy (blood tests) Administer:
Routine injections Immunisations and vaccinations Provide contraceptive services and advice Offer dietary and general health advice Public Health & Prevention
Promote health education and disease prevention Support infection prevention and control measures Contribute to health surveillance programmes Apply population health management approaches to address inequalities Teamwork & Professional Development
Work as part of the GP practice multi-disciplinary team (MDT) Collaborate with the wider practice nurse network Participate in training and development activities Promote and implement best practice standards Governance & Practice Support
Assist in reviewing and implementing clinical policies and procedures Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation Ensure compliance with NHS guidelines and standards

You will be joining a well-established successful nursing team who work in conjunction with a great wider team of clinicians, a very supportive management team, as well as large administrative function.
Cheetham Hill: 1 Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 very experienced Practice Nurses - 1 who is a prescriber, 2 Nurse Associates as well as 3 Health Care Assistant
The Neville Family: 1 experienced Nurse Prescriber, 1 Health Care Assistant and 1 Nurse Associate.
The combined list is just under 26,000 registered patients, and we operate over two sites in North Manchester
Job description Job responsibilities
A Practice Nurse in a GP surgery delivers evidence-based care to patients, working both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. The role involves managing chronic diseases, carrying out health screenings, administering immunisations and treatments, and providing health promotion and preventative care.
The nurse is responsible for a wide range of clinical tasks including cervical screening, phlebotomy, blood pressure monitoring, and general health advice, while also supporting public health initiatives and addressing health inequalities.
In addition, the role includes contributing to clinical governance, policy development, and continuous professional development, ensuring high standards of care across the practice.
