We are looking for a compassionate and motivated Health Care Assistant (HCA) to join our friendly and supportive General Practice team.Our health care assistant will deliver and assist clinical staff in the provision of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.Our ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be flexible and cooperative and work well in a team. You will be able to follow clinical policy and procedure.

Working under the direct supervision of the lead practice nurse and strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols, the healthcare assistant will assist the practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. This post will require cross site working so car driver essential.
Main responsiblities
Long Term Condition Reviews, NHS Health Checks, ECG Recording, Phlebotomy, chaperoning duties, dressing changes, suture / clip removal, home visits, ear irrigation, assisting in minor operations and coil clinic. Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses. Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording. Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation. Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms. Preparing and maintaning environments and equipment before, during and after patient interventions. Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and wellbeing.
Person Specification
Experience Essential
Experience of working directly in a healthcare assistant role, adult health and social care, learning support or public health/health improvement (including unpaid work) Experience working within a GP Practice
Desirable
Demonstrates an understanding of Clinical Governance skill Health and Safety Awareness Basic first aid knowledge Basic knowledge about Blood Borne Diseases
Qualifications Essential
GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Phlebotomy accredited Wound Care Removal of sutures/staples
Desirable
Immunisation and Vaccination accredited Ear Syringing accredited Knowledge of IT systems, including ability to use word processing skills, emails and the internet to create simple plans and reports
