About this role

Job summary

The role is an interim requirement to contract manage a tier-1 engineering consultancy to conduct:

1. Critical Asset Failure Rate Analysis - complete a 10% review and quantify the probability of failure for life-critical systems. This may extend based on review.

2. 5Year PPM Audit - validate maintenance completeness and identify systemic compliance gaps.

3. In-House Direct Labour Team Assessment - Review and recommend staffing levels for standard-compliant critical PPM delivery.

The role will provide effective contract management duties to ensure performance, deliverables

Main duties of the job

Responsible for leading the 3 workstream engineering baseline assessment and remedial actions plans.

Chair monthly steering committee meetings with the consultancy and key stakeholders to review progress, resolve issues, and ensure alignment with the consultancy assessment timeline.

Establish and enforce a structured review process for all consultancy deliverables, including Probability of Failure scoring validation, compliance gap analysis verification, and benchmarking against healthcare sector standards.

Coordinate the timely provision of all supporting data to the consultancy, including CAFM system exports, maintenance records, incident logs, and engineering drawings.

Ensure consultant findings are effectively integrated to inform the remediation delivery strategy.

Maintain a risk register for the consultancy engagement with mitigation strategies and escalation protocols.

Validate PoF scoring methodology and ensure consistency across asset categories.

Oversee statistical sampling methodology to ensure robust audit coverage.

Person Specification

Qualifications/ Education Essential

Master's Degree gained within hard services discipline.

Professionals/ Statutory Registration Essential

Registered with a recognised professional body.

Previous experience Essential

Substantial experience of operating in a senior hard services role in an estates and facilities context. Fully understand the level and the standard of service required to ensure hard services statutory and performance standards are maintained, monitored and regularly reviewed Substantial staff management experience which will include external contractors and their effective management. Significant experience gained in the process to ensure legal compliance in accordance with the various Acts of Parliament and Local by-laws required under health & safety an appreciation of the intricate language of legal documents etc.

Knowledge Essential

Significant understanding of the relationships between various departments in order to ensure coordination of ongoing service delivery across the Trust Significant experience of development of Hard Services Policies and Procedures including the introduction of innovation in service delivery Formulation and presentation of technical reports.

Skills & Abilities Essential

Ability to analyse complex problems and to develop practical and workable solutions to address them. Ability to establish strategic direction and tactical delivery plans by establishing clear work priorities, effective delegation, and performance management and review Highly developed leadership and influencing skills with the ability to enthuse, motivate and involve individual and teams to achieve departmental targets. Good work ethic personally organised and self-motivated.
