We're recruiting for aClinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our team at the Oxford Clinic, a medium secure forensic inpatient service, consisting of 3 wards (Evenlode, Kennet, Glyme Wards). Referrals are accepted from other adult or forensic services, prison or high secure hospitals.

You'll provide clinical leadership to the OT team as well as the service at Oxford Clinic. You'll deliver specialised OT therapy interventions as well as monitoring and auditing outcomes, ensuring high standards of care and leadership throughout.

You'll mentor and manage junior staff, fostering their professional growth. Leading by example, you'll share your expertise and guide the team in delivering best practices in forensic mental health care. Main duties of the job

Through assessment, identify patients strengths and needs and to co-ordinate and facilitate suitable therapy programmes to meet those needs. This should involve use of the Recovery approach and be socially inclusive in practice. Also should use OT models of practice and standardised assessment tools (MOHO). Develop and maintain relevant therapeutic activities as appropriate to the patient group served, including opportunities for cognitive, creative, education, work, leisure, interpersonal, spiritual and life skills. Where possible to ensure interventions are evidence based. Line manage OT staff/PFP at Oxford Clinic. Contribute to the achievement of performance targets for Oxford Clinic through a leadership role. Participate in the process of establishing, monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures common to the profession and clinical services in the care group and Trust. To be involved in the recruitment and selection for OT posts in the forensic service. Participate in the delivery of service improvement plans for OT Trust wide. Manage the Oxford Clinic OT budget. Participate in and support research projects in the Trust and to develop research initiatives as appropriate to the service. To encourage and support staff in the process of research.
